Terms of Service

By accessing and using JurisAid ("the Platform"), a service provided by Pine Technology Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"), you ("User," "you") agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. Your continued use of the Platform after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

JurisAid is an AI-powered legal assistance tool designed to support legal professionals in Nigeria.

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Certain features of the Platform are available only with a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees and taxes. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis, either monthly or annually, through Paystack.

• Auto-renewal: If you pay with a saved card, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You may cancel anytime from Settings > Billing & Plan. Your paid access continues until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
• Credit packs: Purchased credit refills ("vault credits") do not expire and remain on your account until used.
• Plan changes: Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades are handled by cancelling your current subscription and resubscribing after it expires.

Refund Policy: We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions. Refund requests made after this period will be handled at our sole discretion.

The Platform, including its software, code, design, logos, and original content, is the exclusive property of Pine Technology Ltd and its licensors.

You retain all rights to the data and documents you upload to the Platform. By uploading content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, process, and display that content solely to provide the Services to you, including AI processing and display of results within your account.

We will not use your uploaded content to train third-party AI models, for marketing purposes, or for any purpose unrelated to delivering the Services to you. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

The Platform and all AI-generated outputs are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pine Technology Ltd makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that AI outputs will be accurate, complete, current, or free from error. You are solely responsible for verifying all AI-generated content before relying on it in any professional, legal, or client-facing context.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pine Technology Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Platform.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Abuja, Nigeria.

JurisAid outputs are research and drafting assistance only. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You must independently verify all citations, facts, statutes, and case law before relying on any AI output.
• You are responsible for compliance with the rules of professional conduct applicable to your practice, including duties of competence, diligence, and client confidentiality.
• You must not file AI-generated content in court, submit it to clients, or use it in any official proceeding without thorough review and appropriate professional judgment.
• You are responsible for determining whether uploading client matter information to the Platform is appropriate for your engagement and jurisdiction.

Nothing in these Terms or in any AI output creates an attorney-client relationship between you and Pine Technology Ltd or JurisAid.

You may stop using the Platform at any time. You may cancel a paid subscription from Settings > Billing & Plan as described in Section 4.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we are required to do so by law. Where practicable, we will notify you before suspension or termination.

On termination, your right to access the Platform ends. Your data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy. You may purge your analysis history from Settings > Data & Storage, or request full account deletion by emailing [email protected].

By creating an account, you agree to receive communications from JurisAid. These fall into two categories:

• Transactional (required): Receipts, billing notices, security alerts, password resets, and other messages necessary to operate your account. You cannot opt out of these while your account is active.
• Promotional (optional): Practice tips, product updates, newsletters, and usage reminders. You may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any promotional email or by contacting us at [email protected].

Opting out of promotional communications does not affect essential service notices.
